Jourdan Dunn hit the red carpet at the 2016 Tony Awards held at The Beacon Theatre in New York City on Sunday night looking gorgeous in a blush pink dress by Zac Posen. The combination of makeup and hair, and the delicate touches of jewelry made this one of my favorite looks of the night.
We spoke with celebrity makeup artist Renee Garnes to get the details on her makeup look so you can recreate this flawless look at home.
“To keep her look soft and fresh, we went with a minimal makeup look with a twist,” Garnes said of the inspiration.
Here’s the breakdown, including the products used on Maybelline New York spokesmodel Jourdan Dunn. You can find most of these products at your favorite mass retailers at affordable prices.
Face, Contour, and Cheeks: Apply Maybelline New York Dream Velvet Foundation on the face for a demi-matte finish, to look soft and velvety. Because the dress was a soft champagne-pink, Garnes wanted the face not to look too structured or strobed, so lightly sweeping the contouring shade of Maybelline New York FaceStudio Master Contour just below the cheekbones and the highlighting powder of FaceStudio Master Contour onto the high planes of the face, followed by the blushed allowed for such a look. Garnes wanted to give the skin a little glow, but nothing too heavy. Garnes also wanted the cheeks to look a little flushed, so it paired perfectly with the blush shade of FaceStudio Master Contour no.2.
Eyes: Keeping to the blushed theme of Jourdan’s Zac Posen dress, Maybelline New York The Blushed Nudes Palette paired well. Garnes gave the eyelids a wash of the light shimmery, pink shadow. Using a deep nude shadow, she gave the eyes a little contour just above the crease of the lid. The eyes were then tight lined with black liner. Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Luscious Luscious mascara made the lashes look full on top and bottom, with a few extensions for added drama.
Brows: Jourdan’s brows were filled in with the powder from the Maybelline New York Brow Drama Pro Palette, and defined with the wax applied by the accompanied angled brush. The highlighter shade from the palette was finger swept onto the brow bone.
Lips: Lips were soft to pair nicely with the color of the dress. Lips were first lined with Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lip Liner in Rose and then topped with Maybelline New York Baby Lips Lip Gloss in Pink-a-Boo and Taupe with Me.
