Now that you understand your feelings and are ready to take responsibility to learn what you may be thinking or doing that is causing further pain, you’re ready to love yourself. The next step is to open your heart to the idea of love, without fear of rejection.
Step 3: How to Love Yourself
Start and end every day with positive affirmations, gratitude, and a willingness to help those around you and strangers you are yet to meet.
Listen to music, submerge yourself in nature, dance, and hug your loved ones. Fill your day with love, and the universe will fill your heart with love in return. Select some self-love affirmations that truly resonate with your soul. Repeat them every morning or night, until you begin to believe the words and can tell yourself finished out loud that you love yourself without cringing.
As you continue through the next few steps to love yourself, you’ll feel yourself bonding more with your inner self. Once you’ve mastered the art of self-love, you’ll find that your standards rise. Knowing your worth will make it difficult to be around people who don’t, pushing you to expect the best for yourself in your career, relationships, and everyday life.
Loving yourself puts a stop to self-destructive behaviors, and aligns you with your soul and life’s purpose. Stay tuned for step 4 coming tomorrow.
