Unfortunately, dark times are an inevitable part of life. The good news is that getting through the storms helps us appreciate the beautiful days. The harder life gets, the more crucial it is to know how to self-love to deflect the negative energy, keep your head above water and make it through to the other side.

#1. Focus on your minimum requirements

Our bodies manifest emotional energy, causing various issues including insomnia, stress, anxiety, and depression. Ensuring we are getting enough sleep, fueling our bodies with nutritious foods, and exercising are three seemingly small steps that can make a world of difference to our physical and mental health.

#2. Focus on you

We all have friends and family members who can be demanding of our time, and drain our energy levels walking from one life crisis to another. While you are fighting your dark times, focusing on yourself is imperative. Take some time off from being an energy sponge and protect your energy. Choose to spend time alone to decompress, or be around only those in your circle who are instant soul pick-me-ups.

#3. Practice gratitude

It can be challenging to count your blessings during dark times, but gratitude plays a vital role in maintaining a positive mental attitude. Focusing on the good helps keep the darkness from crawling into your mind and soul.

#4. Meditate!

During overcast days overflowing with stress, anxiety and other toxic energy, meditation will be your savior. Taking a few minutes a day to cleanse your energy can help push out the negativity and breathe in the good vibes.
