Whether you live in a humble abode or a sprawling mansion by the ocean, we all lay our heads down at night in the same place – home. And there’s a reason why they say, “home is where your heart is.” It’s where you should wake up feeling inspired and excited for the day ahead, and where you decompress at the end of the day, feeling safe to dream about your next big adventure in life. If you’re feeling uninspired, I’ve got a few tips for you to help you live your best home life.
Live Your Best Home Life in 3 Easy Steps
Set Some Ground Rules for 21 Days and Watch Them Become a Habit.
It takes 21 days, or three full weeks, for a repeated action to become a habit. Set rules for yourself and your family around taking care of your living space. If you remove something from the fridge or pantry, make sure to put it back where you found it. If you wear a shirt to work, don’t throw it on a chair when you get home, hang it back up in its rightful place in the closet. Simple actions like these respect your living space and will cut down on the chaos not only in your life but your mind as well.
Brighten up Your House with a Few Tiny Tweaks.
Buy some plants, switch up the paint color in your bedroom, or add some inspiring new art to your living room. Find a fun DIY project to get your creative juices flowing. Breathing new life into your home can be quick and cost-effective.
Declutter and Donate.
Go through each room of your house and Marie Kondo-it-up. Get rid of anything that doesn’t bring you joy. Instead, collect all of the items and donate them to Goodwill or a local women’s shelter. Be grateful for what you have but share some of that with others and your home will always be full of love.
