Comparison is the thief of joy, and there’s not enough joy in the world, so don’t add to the negativity by bringing yourself down. Read on to find out why you have to stop comparing yourself to others right now.
Monday Motivation: Why You Have to Stop Comparing Yourself to Others
1. There Is Enough Success for Everyone Who Wants a Piece of the Pie.
You don’t have to be like someone else to be successful or happy. Find your unique qualities and work hard to stand out and make your mark. You’ll be happier when you can say you did things your way while staying true to yourself, your values, and your brand.
2. Perfection Is an Unachievable Illusion
No one is perfect, no matter how hard they try to make it seem like they are. Keep that in mind next time you find yourself envying what someone else has. Along with their perceived perfection comes their unseen flaws and insecurities. Sometimes things look great on the surface, but you can’t always see what’s bubbling underneath. Think about what you do have that makes you happy and focus on cultivating those feelings into something more as you make a game plan for dominating the next set of goals on your list.
3. Life Isn’t Fair
Sometimes the prom queen marries the quarterback of the football team, and they have two perfect children, a huge house, and the perfect, happy life. Or someone who’s already super successful wins the lottery. And that’s because life isn’t fair. Increase your chances by slaying hard, kicking open as many windows of opportunity as you can, and modifying your mindset to believe everything you want in life is possible.
