Now that I’m gearing up for Fashion’s Night Out, I can’t help but have shopping on my mind. So I want to share a few private online sample sales with you where you can score some awesome designer duds for a fraction of the original price. The online shopping events work just like a sample sale you’d attend at a store (like a bridal sample sale), but sans the mobs of people and usually uncomfortable weather. The best part (or the most dangerous part) is that the majority of these sales happen every day! But you must act fast, because the slashed prices are only available for a limited time.
Perhaps one of the most popular is Gilt Group. Score an invitation and you’ll start to receive daily
newsletters offering up to 70 percent off women’s, men’s, and children’s
apparel and accessories (think Marc by Marc Jacobs handbags, Original Penguin).
Sales start at noon, and you’ll want to be on time—trust me.
Boston-based Rue La La is
also a favorite for designer brands at a discount. Get invited here.
A newbie to the scene is online
newsletter Daily Candy’s Swirl. Expect to find indie designer looks like Leigh
& Luca and VictoriaLand. But there are also brands like American Apparel
that grace the site every once in a while (like today).
But if you’re looking for home decor, you’ll want to check out One King’s Lane. They have everything from fun lamps to creative storage options.
