Hi Jennifer,
Thanks so much for sending me this heartfelt email. I know it’s hard to put yourself out there. I appreciate you sharing your dreams with me. I know what it’s like to be a young mom with big aspirations. I was only 21 years old when I gave birth to my daughter, Amber. Two days later, I was already working on the company’s payroll. There are plenty of extremely successful women who had children at a very young age. So I can understand being overwhelmed with the thought of having to take care of a 14-month-old baby. But just try to take it day-by-day. Enjoy it while you can! And if there is any time you can find for yourself, try to use those hours to make small steps towards your big goal. They’ll add up! Believe you can do it. I believe in you.
As for my celebrity friends… I want you to know, I didn’t always have them. As I became more successful, I began to run in circles with other successful people—who more often than not happen to be people in the spotlight. You attract what you give off. Always remember that. And yes, it is true having strong connections can help you move forward. But before you make those connections you must become the type of person others want to help move forward. What I mean by that is, you must work hard enough towards your goal to show you have the potential to jump to the next level. Once you’ve made it to that place and are really trying to attract help, someone will come your way and will notice your abilities. You have to prove to people that you’re worth their time by showing you have what it takes to make it. If not, why would those busy people want to help? Most people that are in the position to help others are also very busy, so they want to make sure their time and efforts are well spent.
Other than believing in yourself and working hard enough where others begin to believe in your potential, you must also live in the present. I understand you feel like you’ve wasted time. Jennifer, I promise you’re time is now. It’s not about what happened two years ago or about what will happen two years from now. It’s about what you are doing with your life right now. Stop thinking about how you your time was spent. You have to trust that all those steps you took in the past were meant to take you to where you are right now. And right now you want to move forward. I can hear it in your voice. So do it. Take those steps toward your final destination. And don’t event think about how or when or why. Just go with what you feel. Don’t question it. That voice is the true you. Believe.
