Fall Beauty: How to Repair Sun-Damaged Hair

Sun, sea, and chlorine are good for the soul, but not so great for our hair and skin. Chlorine is harsh on hair that’s already struggling with heat damage from the sun’s powerful rays. Add in your preferred heated hair styling tools, and it’s no wonder our hair requires some major TLC. Here’s how to repair sun-damaged hair like a pro.

1. Prevention is better than cure.

Next summer, be sure to wear a high-quality conditioner in your hair when you’re hitting the beach or the pool. It helps protect your locks from the drying elements.

2. Trim dead ends.

A quick visit to your hairstylist to trim your split ends will instantly give your tresses the kiss of life they so desperately need. If your hair is highly damaged, opt for a salon conditioning treatment too especially if you color your hair regularly.

3. Hello, hydration!

There are so many incredible hair masks and conditioners on the market. You can even make your own DIY mask and leave on for an hour or overnight to deeply nourish your hair. For next level hydration, wrap your hair in a warm towel to help your hair absorb all of the conditioning ingredients.
