Hi Vanessa,
Thank you so much for your kind note. It really means a lot to me. It sounds like you have a very clear vision of what you want in life. That is such a blessing—and a recipe for success! I can hear your maturity and dedication to your goal just by reading your email.
Your question was: how I got into cosmetics; and how did I stay positive and patient? I got into cosmetics because it was an industry I always enjoyed. I wasn’t always completely sure as to how I’d be involved with the industry, but after Market America’s success it was the natural next move. My husband JR was the one that gave me that extra push. He found it very silly that I spent all this money on cosmetics and was so educated on the topic, but never thought of having my own line. We can all use a little push at times! As soon as I decided to take on the venture, I never doubted myself. You see, I’ll never take on a project if my heart isn’t 100 percent into it. If you’re completely passionate about something, I truly believe you’ll succeed. And you know what, Vanessa, every industry is competitive. But there is always room for someone with a fresh approach and enthusiasm. You are that person. And while on your journey, make sure to align yourself with people who share your best interest and passion. I could never have made it to where I am without my support group (my husband, my daughter, my brother, and friends). Lastly, make sure your product or service is the best you can offer your clients. If you clients’ needs are in mind, and you truly aspire to serve them, you will be way ahead of the game.
Now, how do I stay positive? I just don’t make it an option. Being positive is my way of life. It’s a lifestyle. I will not settle for less. And you shouldn’t either. If negative thoughts come into my mind, I acknowledge them then push them away, because they are only delaying my process. The more time you spend on being impatient or negative the longer it will take to accomplish your goal. Try to think of that whenever you find yourself in bad thought patterns.
Thank you again for your email. I know you’re made for big things. Keep moving forward. Keep dreaming.
xoxo
