Last night’s VIP Beauty Lounge was all about discovering your face shape and accentuating your features using the three NEW Motives Face Palettes: Shape Up Contour Palette, That Glow Tho Highlighter Palette and Get Cheeky Blush Palette.
Celebrity makeup artist, Jackie Gomez began by teaching us all about the different face shapes and how each one has a unique technique when applying contour, highlight and blush. To discover your face shape, download the face charts provided below and compare a selfie photo! Sometimes we are a combination of two face shapes so make sure you pay close attention to the details in the face charts! Charts provided by Face The Beauty.
There are so many great tips shared in this VIP Beauty Lounge. Did you know there was a huge difference between bronzer and contour? Jackie Gomez says, “Bronzer is meant to give us the appearance of a sun glow and it is not intended to contour.” Contour is intended to help us recede the areas it is applied to giving those areas a “shadow” effect.
3 Key Takeaways:
- Set the areas you want to brighten and enhance with the lighter colors in the Shape Up Contour Palette. You can also do corrections and clean ups with these lighter colors.
- When applying blush on the apples of the cheeks, contrary to popular belief, don’t smile! It’s best that you apply the blush on a relaxed face to ensure that the blush does not sit lower on the face.
- Whether it’s contour, highlight or blush, always start light and build.
