3 Signs You’re Failing at Calendar Management

Entrepreneurs have the liveliest calendars in the game. If we’re not in meetings or playing email catchup, we’re working on creating new ideas to take our businesses to the next level. Throw in studying, going to meetings, or remembering to grab lunch on the go, and there’s a lot of potential for chaos. To make calendars useful, we need to manage them effectively. If you’re looking for ways to change your life with a few hacks to get your calendar skills under control, you’re in the right place. Read on!

1. You’re always saying ‘I just don’t have enough time.’

If you find yourself repeating this defeatist phrase, it’s time for a time management audit. Over the next seven days, color-code your calendar to visualize exactly how you spend your time each day. At the end of the week, the colors will reveal where you’re spending all of your time. Delegate all of the tasks that you can so that you’re able to prioritize more critical assignments that need your attention. Don’t forget to highlight the time you spend each day on social media. You’ll be shocked how much time we can waste aimlessly scrolling through these time vacuums.

2. You keep forgetting meetings until alerts go off 15 minutes before.

Spend 5 minutes every morning reviewing your calendar for the day so that you can map out your day effectively. Make sure you’re allowing enough time for essential tasks and commuting to meetings. Rushing results in unnecessary stress and makes you look disorganized.

3. You waste time on unimportant decisions.

Indecisiveness and perfectionism are two major time-stealing culprits. If you can’t decide on something, move on to the next task and come back to making a decision later in the day or the following morning with fresh eyes.
