Have you ever thought how wonderful it would be to become an entrepreneur? Or wondering what it would be like to get out there and start your own business, but thought you don’t have the entrepreneurial chops necessary to get the job done and be a success? Well, here’s the thing: entrepreneurs are just like me and you. They’re regular people with a dream and a passion to turn that dream into something they can spend their life working on and make money while they’re at it.
The biggest thing in an entrepreneurial bag of tricks? Passion and the desire to make something out of nothing. If you’re wondering if you can out there and make it happen, it may help to look within, to take stock of your own talents and personality – do you have what it takes to go out on your own? Here are five signs you’re an entrepreneur.
5 Signs You’re an Entrepreneur
#1. You’re willing to get creative. Sometimes the answer isn’t always right in front of you. You have to learn to work around a problem or come up with a solution that wasn’t simply staring you in the face. You have to think about how you can use the skills and the resources you have at your disposal to turn a challenging situation into an overall win. That takes ingenuity, problem solving skills and a willingness to think outside of the box. If you have that, you can solve anything that comes your way.
#2. You’re all about action. If you’re not one to sit around watching the birds chirp and time pass by, you probably have that entrepreneurial spirit people are always talking about. Because you know what? That’s what it takes. Getting up, putting your ideas into action and making it happen are the exact steps you need to go from a mere thought to turning a dream into a reality. At the end of the day, when you’re an entrepreneur – no one else is going to do it for you and, it’s all about action.
#3. You’re not afraid to put yourself out there. Some people may think your ideas are off the wall or that you’re crazy for venturing out on your own. But here’s the thing: you will never know until you try and you cannot be afraid to go for it. And, if you’re gonna go – you have to go all in. Trying to make something a huge success simply off the side of your corporate day job will never give you the time or energy to really make it happen. If you’re not afraid, if you’re ready and you’re prepared to go feet first – you have that entrepreneurial spirit that many people dream of.
#4. You know when it’s time to seek advice from the pros. Knowing that you don’t know it all is absolutely essential when it comes to venturing out on your own. You have talents in one or two areas, but to think you can successfully manage all facets of a business isn’t the right attitude whatsoever. You may need help managing your accounting or human resources, you made need someone who has the technical capabilities you lack – whatever the case may be – when it’s time to bring in someone with the know how to get a particular job done, you do it rather than trying to navigate (sloppily) on your own.
#5. You have boundless excitement and endless energy to see your project through to success. You have to the one that’s passionate about your own business. You’re the brains and the creativity behind the operation and your excitement should be palpable for those around you. You have to be! It’s so challenging to get a business off the ground, there should be no end to how thrilled you are to see your business go from a dream to a reality.
So what do you think? Do YOU have what it takes to turn your entrepreneurial dreams into your full time job?
