So you’re getting ready for 2014… resolutions are on your mind and thinking strategically about your productivity in the upcoming year is definitely a must do. Where do you start and how do you even begin to establish a plan for increasing productivity next year? Well, it’s pretty simple – start in the morning! Take a look at these tips for making your mornings the most productive part of your days in 2014.
6 Tips for Making Mornings the Most Productive Part of the Day
- Perform the tasks that require the most creativity first thing. Your mind is fresh and your energy is high – capitalize on that!
- Sit up straight or stand and work for a bit. Rejuvenation is key so shake off the sluggishness.
- Hold your email until later in the day. Give yourself the first few hours each morning to actually check things off your to-do list, follow up on emails later.
- Stay off the phone for a few hours too – even if you have to put it on silent, ignore or hide it in your desk drawer! Once you’ve made it partway through your to-do’s, then you can get on the phone.
- Once you finish a few tasks – have a snack (it will feel like a little reward, but will also give you a spike in energy)
- Make a habit of getting set-up the night before. When you’re ready to go, you’ll have so much less futzing around and so much more production.
