Check out this interesting concept from luxury goods group Burberry in which unveiled its “Retail Theatre” concept in London and around the world, allowing consumers to see and buy its 2011 Spring/Summer collection live from the catwalk. Chief Executive Officer of Burberry said the concept was part of a rush to embrace online retail sales by a luxury sector that spent years ignoring the power of direct sales. Burberry created an interactive retail investment that enables long-term sustainable growth to go beyond global digital events. The company live streamed in Burberry Prorsum womenswear show into 25 stores across 15 countries.
The “Burberry app” for Apple iPADS allowed consumers to browse the collection and buy online immediately by trying to connect the consumer with pre-orders instead of loosing the sale 6 months later.
