Entrepreneurism: How to Build Your Dream Team

The most successful entrepreneurs are those who understand the importance of delegation. You can likely deliver everything yourself at a sufficient level, but for excellence, you must practice the art of delegation – and this is where the importance of building your dream becomes vital for business growth. JR and I are so proud of everything we’ve achieved with the Market America brand, and we know we couldn’t have done it without the remarkable dream team we built over the years.

Entrepreneurism: How to Build Your Dream Team

dream team

Finding the right people isn’t always as easy as you may think. Sourcing people with a solid work ethic who share your business vision while possessing the right skills and personality to ensure they are an appropriate culture fit can be a lengthy process. Building the right team you can trust to strengthen and inspire your brand is as important as selecting a life partner.

Intuition is everything!

Nine times out of ten, our intuition will know almost instantly if someone will be a good fit or not based on their energy and presence in general. Attitude is everything – swerve negative personas like the plague. Ask yourself this question after every interview – ”Would I want to surround myself with this person’s energy every day?” If the answer is no, move on.

Are they a go-getter?

The attitude, experience, and skillset an applicant has to offer will help define whether they could potentially be an asset or a liability to your team. They don’t need to tick every required skill set box, but they do need to be willing to learn and develop their skills accordingly. Mediocracy and delivering the bare minimum are two behavior traits that no place in the entrepreneurial world.

Prioritize hiring for your brand’s culture.

Companies who prioritize their business culture are the businesses of the future – Organizations like Apple and Google have powerfully demonstrated this fact. The ultimate dream team will be made up of positive, inquisitive go-getters who will stop at nothing to continually develop your brand while having one heck of a good time with the rest of the team along the way.

Don’t be afraid to let the wrong people go.

No one enjoys firing people, but unfortunately, sometimes it is absolutely necessary to protect and push your business to reach new heights. Letting weak team members go who aren’t delivering is a vital piece of the jigsaw in building your dream team. Remember; one negative or weak team member who doesn’t pull their weight can pollute the whole work environment. Don’t let them drag the rest of the team down with them like a sinking ship.
