There was a time when I thought wearing lipliner was pointless. Who needs lipliner when I’m already applying lipstick? Oh, how naive I was. Over the years, I’ve changed my perspective on using lipliners. Now, they’re a part of my daily routine. I always make sure my lips are lined before I go in with my lipstick, and there are plenty of important reasons why. Below, I’ve listed them out for you. If you’re a lipliner non-believer, this post will certainly help change your mind. Read on to find out why you should wear lipliner with your lipstick. Be sure to let me know what you think in the comments section.
4 Reasons to Wear Lipliner

Prevents Feathering- I loathe when my lipstick bleeds out onto my skin. It looks so messy! With darker lipsticks, it ends up looking smudged. Prevent lipstick bleeding by lining your lips beforehand. No more feathering, ladies!
Keeps Lipstick Locked- Line your lips and fill them in with some lipliner and your set for some bright, gorgeous lips all day and all night long. Just fill in your lips with your lipliner, apply your lipstick, and blot. This will keep the color locked, while also brightening up your favorite lip shade.
Defines Your Lip’s Shape- With the lipstick bullet, it’s sometimes difficult to fill the shape of your lips properly. That’s one of the reasons I love using a lipliner. I can touch up after going in with my lipstick to help define my lips for a more precise application.
Gives You Fuller Lips- If you want fuller lips, use lipliner to make it happen! Over lining your lips helps to make your lips look fuller for that pouty effect. It’s all about getting the technique down.
