Dressing well and looking polished & professional go hand in hand with feeling confident. Your clothing affects your state of mind, and if you look good you feel good. With that said, these are my tips for feeling empowered through your style.
- Shoes can help make you feel like a force to be reckoned with. Of course, make sure they’re comfortable! I always try to look for footwear that provides some height so I can really feel confident and motivated while conveying a sense of power. I tend to walk differently and have even noticed that it enhances my productivity. Try out some heels for yourself!
- Wear Red. This fiery hue is linked to power, is inherently exciting, and draws attention. I am not suggesting you dress head to toe in red. You can wear a pop of red, instead! Wear a red purse, some red shoes, or even a bold red lip. Again, make sure you are comfortable wearing it.

- Dress for the job you want, not the job you have. So you want to be a CEO one day? Why are you wearing leggings and crocs? On that note- leggings are BANNED from the workplace. So are sweats and yoga pants. Don’t even think about it!
- Invest in a structured blazer. The versatility of this piece allows you to mix and match different tops and pieces of jewelry. I love a blazer that isn’t just black or navy. Try a maroon instead. It makes for a bold statement.
- Fit is everything. Whether you opt for pants and a blouse, skirt and top, or a dress–the right fit is essential to pulling off a professional, powerful, and polished look. If you wear clothes that are too big – you’ll end up looking frumpy. Know your body. Know what cuts look flattering on your silhouette.
