Gucci’s Plans to Change Up Their Runway Show

The world of fashion is constantly changing, and now more than ever. With the advent of the smart phone and social media, the runway seems like a dinosaur and some are questioning how long it’ll stick around. To combat the change and prevent cheap copycats from selling, designers are slowly moving to a see now buy now format while other designers are going a different route.

Rather than opt for the see-now-buy-now format, Gucci is changing up their runway presentation by combining their men’s and women’s collections. Androgyny has always been a part of Alessandro Michele’s runway shows and now he’s taking it just one step forward. According to Gucci, it’s a way to cut costs and simplify their show. A few months ago, Burberry also announced that they would be combining their shows as well.

Could this be the newest runway trend? Time will only tell! For now, we’ll just have to enjoy two shows packed in one. What do you think of Gucci’s move? Let me know in the comments section.
