A new season means new staples to get your style on point. Basics are pieces that you can pair with almost any piece to create the perfect look. Today I’ve brought on Miami’s premiere fashion stylist, Claudia Alonso into the mix to help us with some of this seasons must-have fall basics. It’s time to get ready for the season, ladies! According to Alonso, duster coats are great from Miami to New York. She says that choosing the right coat is all about the climate you live in. “Opt for a lighter material if you are in a warm climate or a heavier wool if it’s colder out. Because duster coasts are shape-less, you can layer as many you need to stay warm and still look on trend.” Fabulous!

Ballerina shoes are also a great trend for the season, no matter what style they come in! “If its a flat, heel or boot that’s ballerina inspired, you’ll still be wearing a twist on everyone’s favorite winter basic.”

If it’s cold outside aim for a cableknit sweater. Lucky for you, it doesn’t have to be a fancy. According to Alonso, “Ralph Lauren made this staple YEARS ago but you don’t necessarily have to sport that little horse logo! Instead, opt for an updated cable knit style like an oversized or cropped sweater.

You probably already have leather pants or leggings in your closet, which makes it such a great basic piece for fall. “Not only will your leather leggings keep you warm but they also make for a great day-to-evening transition piece.” You can even rock these with almost any other piece on this list for a look that’s perfect for day or night. “Wear your leather leggings with your cable knit sweater or dress it up with some heels and an oversized trench for the night,” says Alonso.
