When you attend a wedding as a guest there are certain fashion guidelines that you must adhere to when it comes to style. You don’t want to make a fashion faux pas and end up embarrassing yourself along the way. You want to look good and make an impression. That’s why you RSVP’d “yes” in the first place, right? When In Doubt, Wear A Dress- I know that jumpsuits are all the rage right now, and if you’ve got the fashion chops, then go for it! I suggest that you stay away from trends though. Why? Trends don’t exactly last forever and people will be looking at these photos for a long time. Go for a more classic look and wear a dress. Generations to come will say you were the most well dressed person at their parent’s wedding.

When White is a Faux Pas, Go For Black- Is it okay to wear white to a wedding? The verdicts still out on that. Some will say ‘yes!’ while others will give you a solid ‘no.’ When in doubt, go for a black version of the dress you want to wear. An LBD never hurt anyone. You’ll look sleek and mysterious. A black dress is what you wear when you want to leave a good impression so go for it.

Go For Some Comfortable Heels- You’ll be going from church to venue to dancing all night so you want to be as comfortable as possible. Go for some heels that aren’t too high. If you’re breaking in some new heels, try to wear them at least once in advance. That way you’ll know how comfortable or uncomfortable they really are.

A Small Purse is A Necessity- A small purse is what you need for the necessities. You just need a clutch that’ll carry your cell phone, ID, cash, card, and lipstick. Nothing more! Keep it simple. You don’t want a big purse distracting people from your dress.
