Last month, Elle talked to fashion insiders to find out which trends are on their way OUT this 2017. According to Brooke Jaffe, Bloomingdale’s OVP and fashion director of ready-to-wear, that skinny jeans are on their way out.
“A huge change is coming in the denim world. Skinny jeans with stretch have reigned supreme for a long time but we anticipate a shift toward contrast denim styles in vintage silhouettes.”- via
Skinny jeans have become such a fashion staple. They’ve been in-style for years now! They’re definitely a trend I turn to time and time again. That’s why I decided to turn to my own experts to see their take on skinny jeans in 2017! So, I asked them, are skinny jeans on trend or out of style? Read on to see what they have to say!
According to my favorite Instagram stylist, Nina Nini of Style by Nini, skinny jeans will be around for years to come, but there are some changes in silhouettes coming this 2017.
“I think skinny jeans will always be present on fashion scene, but in 2017 looser trends are definitely taking over… Such as boyfriend, flare and straight-line jeans, especially cut/cropped jeans.”
Miami based designer, Alice Marie, thinks that skinny jeans will be in-style in a whole new way.
“The biggest trend for skinny jeans in 2017 that we will see, is embroidery & patches. Whether its stamped florals, glam embroidery, or retro patches there are so many ways to keep your skinny jeans on trend this year.”

When Pricilla Torres of The Fashion Muse shops for her skinny jeans this 2017, she goes for silhouettes that work with her figure.
“I believe that finding the right pair of skinny jeans is essential. Not every pair will fit flattering, that’s why it’s important to make a investment in a good quality pair, which should definitely be an essential staple in your closet this year.”
