Tommy Hilfiger is making a move toward inclusivity right now. The American brand is expanding its ready-to-wear line to be adaptive, in an effort to cater to differently abled customers.
Tommy Hilfiger Moving Toward inclusivity
According to Glamour, “Last year Tommy Hilfiger collaborated with Runway of Dreams, a nonprofit organization that works to broaden clothing options for differently abled children, on a spring capsule collection, to much acclaim. Now the brand is taking the learnings from that project and broadening the scope to adult clothing, which will feature adjustable seams, velcro and magnetic closures, and openings that’ll make it easier for caretakers to assist with dressing. The 66-year-old designer described this line as part of ‘the democratization of fashion’ that his company supports.”
This time, Tommy is going for his own line of adaptive clothing that will feature the company’s signature style in 37 pieces for men and women. This is incredible! In recent years, we’ve seen a change in fashion to become more inclusive. Hopefully, this change will make a difference in the fashion industry and open up more conversations about inclusivity along with opportunities that include a space for differently-abled people. Below are some of the pieces from the line. For more, be sure to head to Tommy’s website here.
