Have you heard about Madison Robinson? This young entrepreneur had an incredible idea to make fun flip flops for kids when she was just eight years old. She dreamed up Fish Flops, the fish themed flip flops that light up with LED lights. It’s been about seven years since then (Madison is now 15) and she is well on her way to becoming a millionaire!

Fish Flops: The Youngest Million-Dollar Entrepreneur
In 2006, I had an idea to make flip flops that showed my love for swimming, fishing and drawing,’ it reads. ‘ I hope you wear them, love them and share them with your friends and I hope they make you smile.’
From Macy’s to Nordstrom – and about 30 other retailers – Fish Flops can’t seem to stay on the shelves. Kids love them for their bright colors and of course the super cool LED lights. Fish Flops have been a real homegrown effort. From Madison’s Dad helping her turn her drawings to samples, to her first personal letter pitching the idea to Nordstrom, Fish Flops now sell for $25/pair. In just two short years, more than 60,000 pairs have sold (that’s right, Fish Flops have raked in more than a $1.2 million dollars in retail sales).
Even though Fish Flops have had such success, Madison continues to be involved every step of the way. She even draws all of the designs herself. Pretty amazing, don’t you think?
How do you feel about big success at such a young age?
