Get an App.
Check out Qapital, the app that lets you save money based on goals you set. Save every time you swipe and accrue interest on your account. Free money? Sign me up!
Go Old School.
Collect your spare change. This may seem silly, or like a no-brainer, but you will be surprised at how fast your change adds up. If you don’t feel like rolling your coins and depositing them into your bank account, find a Coinstar machine at your local grocery store for instant cash back. But be warned, they will take an 11.9% service fee. Alternately you can choose an eGift card with no fees.
Do It Yourself.
Do you really need to go out for dinner for the fourth time this week? Why not stay in and make a delicious meal for you and your friends instead. Put the money you saved by not dining out into your savings account. Win-win!
Shop with a Purpose.
Whether you’re going to the grocery store or the mall, make a list and only leave with the items that are absolutely essential. Think of why you are saving money, and then put down that blouse that you really want, but don’t really need.
