The career path that you choose has to hold more value than what you receive in a paycheck in order for you to fully find enjoyment and fulfillment.
I know that panic is somewhat setting in. Do not panic. In the grand scheme of things, your life is really beginning. While in your twenties, there are so many concepts that you think you know. You find yourself in a race against no one but yourself. You rush through life, not understanding what the rush is all about. Your thirties is the time in your life where you become more grounded. Your perspective shifts and you see your place in life with a more crisp eye. Just think, if you accomplished it all in your twenties, what do you have to look forward to for the rest of your life?
