If your marriage were in trouble, would you try to find a new partner for your spouse to help you get out of the marriage? This is what Paco (Arath de la Torre) did to his wife Dana (Sandra Echeverría) in the Pantaleon Film “Busco Novio Para Mi Mujer.” I caught up with actress and Neutrogena Ambassador Sandra Echeverría, what it was like producing for the first time, being pregnant and working post-production, and her favorite beauty products.
How did you get involved with the film?
“I got this script like six years ago and I fell in love with this story. I was tired of going on auditions where people would just tell me no. It was a lot of rejection. So when I found this role, I really loved it and I wanted to do it. I looked for people to help me and I found my producers Inna Payan and Laura Imperiale and told them the story. They loved it too so we started working together to build this.
There were a lot of obstacles and negotiations but I never quit. I really wanted to do this and I was stubborn about it. Now I see the final product and I’m so very proud of it.”
You not only acted in the film, but you were also a producer. How was that experience for you?
“It was a difficult journey but now that I’ve seen the results, I forgot about all the bad stuff. It was very hard in some moments and I remember feeling like I wanted to quit. But it was all so worth it. This is a story that anyone can identify with, it’s a universal experience. All couples go through different stages in a relationship and different circumstances. Sometimes we’re sad, and sometimes we are happy. We cannot be ok the whole time and that may be hard for the partner to understand. You have to fight for the love and for your partner.”
To add even more stress, you were pregnant during post-production. How did you balance it all?
“I was pregnant during post-production while we were editing and trying to find the music for the soundtrack. I tried to be the most involved that I could. The film was supposed to be released in September but that’s when I was due. So we pushed it back and moved it until this month. I was doing the best I could balancing everything at the same time.
Let’s switch gears a bit to beauty. What products can’t you live without?
“My Neutrogena makeup remover wipes, they’re the best and I always have them in my purse. Whenever I’m done on a photo call, I want to take all my makeup off! I hate to wear tons of makeup so when I do have to wear it, I keep my wipes handy to remove.
I always wear sunblock. My go-to is Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer because it’s very very light. I use it as a base before putting on my makeup. I don’t actually use anything heavy like foundation but I do like to wear a BB cream.
I can’t live without Neutrogena’s Moisture Smooth Color Stick. I wear it on my lips and also on my cheeks as a blush. I love that when I put it on it gives me a glow.”
Did your skin change during your pregnancy?
“During my pregnancy, my skin changed a little bit in the beginning. I was dehydrated so I started drinking a lot of water. This helped me especially during lactation because I always felt so thirsty. I never was a big water drinker but while I was breastfeeding, I was just so thirsty! As soon as I started drinking tons of water, my skin started to feel better immediately. Now I understand the importance of staying hydrated.”
