My team sat down with Fritzie to ask her questions about her love for Motives and what influenced her to become a makeup artist! I’m excited to share this interview with you and will be sharing more weekly!

Tell us a bit about yourself!
My name is Fritzie Torres. I’m 24, Filipino and a single mom. I’m a licensed cosmetologist and certified pro makeup artist. I’m Los Angeles, California based.
When did you know a career in beauty was for you? How did you get started?
Ever since I was 12 I knew I wanted to be part of the beauty industry. When I was 14-16 years old, I worked for a TV show in the Philippines, and there was always hair and makeup artist that will fix me up — and I loved it! It gave me confidence and made me feel beautiful. I wanted to do the same for my clients.
Do you have a specific area of expertise?
Eyebrows, highlighting and contouring are my areas of expertise.
Where do you gather inspiration for new looks?
I gather my inspiration from magazines, television, or from things I see and people I meet.
For our viewers at home, what is the one beauty tip that you could give that many of them may not know about?
Always, I mean ALWAYS, no matter how tired you are, always wash your face before and after makeup application. You want to let your skin to breathe, and its less likely for you to break out.

Do you have a trademark look? We’d love to hear more about it!
Hmm, I think it would have to be my eyebrows or my cat-eye since I like to change the shapes often, depending on how I feel a certain day.
Which beauty trends are you loving right now?
Right now, I am loving the full brows look and the vampy/plummy ombre lips.
