What is the New York Issue?
The New York Issue is a full service event production, public relations, branding, and creative planning agency with a unique and unconventional approach to creating events.
LW: When and how did you start The New York Issue?
AR: We established the company February of 2011. Coming from an entrepreneurial background, working in Milk Studios and being very involved in the New York social scene lead us to start our own production and PR company.
LW: Where do you get your ideas from?
AR: We are inspired by the most expected and unexpected things and places. Anywhere from the Palais Garnier Opera house in Paris to walking down Bond Street in New York to a spread in V magazine is what stimulates us.
LW: What kind of feel do you portray in your products and services?
AR: Editorial, edgy, raw, and grungy with a twist of sophistication.
LW: How do your tastes and styles differ? How are they similar?
AR: I’ve got many ‘tastes’. It’s very hard for me to stick to one. I love a minimalist, clean look but then I will turn around and have a very extravagant, decadent, colorful taste….which is where Tala and I really differ.
Tala: Its very simple: Monochromatic and Gothic.
LW: Who are some of your clients?
AR: Christian Louboutin, LoveCat magazine, and Behaviour Boutique.
LW: Your favorite collection for SS 2012?
Andrea: Prabal Gurung.
Tala: Givenchy.
LW: Whats the best advice you’ve ever received?
AR: Andrea: “You don’t regret things that you don’t say.”
Tala: “Begin to be now what you will be hereafter.”
LW: What do you love about NY?
AR: Andrea: The possibilities.
Tala: Its home.
