10 Things That You Can Do Alone

One of my favorite times of the day is when I am alone with my thoughts. I do not mind being myself. I love my family. I love my friends. I love my work. However, I am very comfortable with being by myself. In these moments, I have time to sit back and reflect on me. “Me” time is very important. During the course of the day, I spend time worrying about everyone else and their needs. This time that I have to myself is just for me. It feels so good to say that. Time just for me!

I encourage all women to not forget about the one person who matters most…you. It is perfectly fine to carve out 15-30 minutes a day specifically catered toward your needs and desires. There are twenty-four hours in a day, if you can’t find a few minutes for you, it is clear that you should re-evaluate your priorities. You are just as important and relevant as anyone around you. Invest in you. Here are some ideas to get you started with me time.

1. Spend quiet moments in a special place designated just for you.

2. Read your favorite novel, magazine or website.

3. Enjoy a quiet dinner for one at your favorite restaurant.

4. Enjoy a city festival, art exhibit or museum.

5. Enjoy a solo day at the beach, just you and the waves.

6. Take a yoga class.

7. Spend time writing in your journal of gratitude.

8. Watch your favorite television show with no interruptions.

9. Go to the movies.

10.Enjoy the scenery outside of your window. Do nothing and just be.
