Happiness doesn’t have to be difficult to achieve. It can be as easy as listening to your favorite song or reminding yourself what your thankful for. Stumped on how to feel happy right now? Reach Out to an Old Friend- Send a Facebook message to someone you lost contact with in the past. Let them know you’re thinking of them. It could change the way you see your day.
Take a Stretch Break- Ever taken a yoga class? Use some of the techniques you learned in your class for a quick stretching break. It could make your day a whole lot better.
Practice Mindfulness- Worry is a waste of your time and energy. Relax for a moment. Focus on the present moment. Really listen to what’s going on around you.
Turn Off Your Phone- Disconnect for a minute, or an hour. If you can, take a walk. Really notice all the details around you.
Dance- Listen to a song that makes you smile. I love listening to older hip-hop tunes! It makes me want to dance around. Dance around for a moments and watch your mood change.
List Your Favorite Things- Make like Julie Andrews and list a few of your favorite things. It’ll brighten your day and make you forget your worry, that’s for sure.
Say Some Positive Affirmations- Remind yourself that you love yourself. Tell yourself that everything will be fine. Repeat after me: “I feel good.”
Clean Your Home- Getting rid of old clothes and cleaning up your space is always cathartic for me! Try it out and see how you feel.
Do Something Creative- Write a quick 100 word short story or grab a coloring book. Have fun and do something that feeds your soul.
Indulge in a Guilty Pleasure- Your guilty pleasure might be a bad TV show that no one knows you watch or a romance book you can’t put down. Enjoy it!
