New York Fashion Week S/S 2012 is here! You may or may not participate in viewing shows, but just the mention of Fashion week sends the hair rising on the neck of any fashion savvy woman. We want you to be informed and in tune with what this week is all about. Here are nine things you didn’t know about New York Fashion Week:
1. IMG Fashion Week is the industry’s insider for the latest fashion trends.
2. The important Fashion Week events take place in New York, London, Milan, and Paris.
3. New York kicks off all of the Fashion Week for the other cities.
4. The Fashion show are not confirmed to one place in the city. Fashion shows happen throughout different venues in Manhattan.
5. The very first Fashion Week was held in 1943.
6. The shows in the winter showcase fashions for the Fall and the shows for the winter showcase fashions for the Spring.
7. During Fashion Week many of the high end stores and boutiques construct their show windows to honor the event.
8. Many of the shows are invitation only.
9. The first front row during a show is reserved for celebrities and fashion editors.
