There’s pretty much nothing as relaxing as sitting down at the end of a long day and catching up on some good T.V. For any budding entrepreneurs out there, the suite of reality shows that take you through the process of starting, pitching or improving a small business is pretty great right now – I have a hard time deciding which is my favorite. If you’re like me, catching up on all of them is the name of the game – they keep me on the edge of my seat – and I love seeing new or struggling businesses turn things around and take off. It’s inspiring! Here’s a roundup of six of my favorite can’t miss T.V. shows for entrepreneurs.
6 Can’t-Miss TV Shows for Entrepreneurs
#1. Shark Tank, ABC Fridays 9/8 Central
Budding entrepreneurs get the chance to bring their dreams to fruition in this reality show from executive producer Mark Burnett. They present their ideas to the sharks in the tank — five titans of industry who made their own dreams a reality and turned their ideas into lucrative empires.
#2. Beyond the Tank, catch these episodes on ABC Go
This companion series to the network’s popular “Shark Tank” offers a look at the enthralling and unexpected outcomes following the Sharks — Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John and Kevin O’Leary — making a deal with show’s entrepreneurs.
#3. Project Runway: Fashion Startup, Lifetime Thursdays 10:30/9:30 Central
“Project Runway: Fashion Startup” isn’t a traditional competition in the same way as its parent series. It takes a page out of the “Shark Tank” playbook in giving aspiring fashion and beauty entrepreneurs a chance to get money and mentoring from industry leaders.
#4. Undercover Boss, CBS Returning for Season 8
High-level corporate execs leave the comfort of their offices and secretly take low-level jobs within their companies to find out how things really work and what their employees truly think of them.
#5. The Profit, CNBC Tuesdays 10/9 Central
Reality series: On each episode Marcus Lemonis offers struggling small businesses capital investment and his expertise in exchange for an ownership stake in the company.
#6. Like a Boss, catch full episodes on Oxygen.com
Follows the dynamic and hard-working assistants to the biggest mavens and moguls in the Atlanta entertainment scene from celebrities to record executives.
