As a self-confessed workaholic, I know all too well the value of taking a day for ourselves sometimes to help us feel alive – that’s why JR and I are currently recharging at our beautiful home in the Bahamas. We’ve been working non-stop recently, so it was time to pause for a few hours, tap out and rejuvenate. We all need to take time out to recharge our happiness levels and feel alive – that’s what life is all about, isn’t it?
7 Simple Ways to Feel Alive Today
You don’t necessarily have to jump out of a plane or bungee-jump into a canyon to feel alive, although these do sound like fun. There are lots of little things you can implement into your daily routine to boost your serotonin levels and remind you that loving your life is as important as knowing your ‘why’ and setting goals to achieve your dreams.
#1 Spend time outdoors – forest bathing is a thing, and mother nature has an incredible talent for peacefully rebooting our minds.
#2 Watch the sunrise from a picturesque viewing platform. Whether you watch from the beach or the city skyline, these moments will uplift your soul.
#3 Run around in the rain, just because!
#4 Say YES to something spontaneous. No one ever regretted a last minute getaway, road trip or impromptu brunch date with their BFF.
#5 Practice the art of kindness. Doing something nice for a complete stranger is rewarding. Let them jump the line in front of you, pay for an old ladies groceries or buy a hot meal for a homeless person – these are all little things that will make a big difference to someone’s day.
#6 If you’re lucky enough to live near a river, lake or ocean – jump in it! You’ll feel invigorated, especially if it’s cold.
#7 Do something that scares you. Speak in public, sing at a karaoke bar or do whatever it is you’ve always wanted to try but been fearful to try.
