Earlier this month, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg gave an
inspirational talk at the TED Women conference on why we have so few women
leaders. And guess what? A lot of the reasons are because “Women systematically
underestimate their own abilities,” says Sandberg. She cited very interesting
data like in the corporate world women at the top take up only about 16 percent
of the pie.
She poses the question “how are we going to fix this?” She
believes the first step is to urge women to stay in the workplace. And then
continues to focus her speech on three main points:
Sit at the table
Make your partner a real partner
Don’t leave before you leave
