Being creative is one of the best gifts we have in this world. Fashion, art, a good book and unique business ideas – they all make up a creative field where incredible things are born. Sometimes, when our job or business requires us to think outside the box regularly, we end up with creative blocks. Beating a creative block can be a real challenge, especially when you’re tired or feeling burnt out. Check out my secrets to overcoming a creative block below.
Beating A Creative Block
- Always carry a pad of paper. Ideas pop up at the strangest times – write them down!
- Take a breather – seriously! Walking away from your desk, even just a five minute walk is one of the best cures for beating a creative block.
- Complete unfinished projects. Get all the little stuff finished, so your mind has less clutter to contend with.
- Use unlikely objects, photos or articles for inspiration. Look around. Flip through magazines, look at billboards – find inspiration in the unexpected (hello, Pinterest!)
- Unplug and get outside. Walk away from the computer and spend some time enjoying the outdoors. Hit the beach or go for hike – it’ll feel great and you’ll come back renewed.
