Brides to Be: Tips for Writing Your Own Wedding Vows
- Give yourself a little alone time. Writing your own vows requires some reflection and uninhibited openness.
- Dig deep. Look inside your heart to figure out why you have chosen your partner. Jot down some of the first reasons that come to mind.
- Find inspiration in your favorite places, images and words. Look at pictures, explore your favorite spaces and sift through some of your favorite books. You never know where inspiration might be.
- Share your promises. Part of making vows is making promises to one another.
- Keep some parts of your vows just for one another and some for the ceremony. Sharing some of your vows privately or even through letters is incredibly romantic and personal.
