I am outraged by the fact that in this day in age, close to 300 innocent girls can be abducted from their school in Chibok and a month later, we are no closer to bringing them back. The international community has taken to Twitter using #BringBackOurGirls to encourage the release of these girls but have these tweets affected any policy or military actions? Boko Haram, the group of Islamist militants which took the girls in the first place has since kidnapped eight additional girls and are threatening to “sell” them all on the market. I think that the international community needs to send a message to Boko Haram that we will not stand for their tactics. Power is in the numbers. If we can rally up in cyberspace, we can do so using our military power, as well. What if one of these girls was your daughter?
