One of the best things about spring is the change to daylight savings time. We get brighter days that feel like pleasantly longer ones just begging to be put to good use. Because this extra daylight makes it appear as if we had more time in the day (wish we actually did!!), it can be an incredibly inspiring season for getting things done. To kick off the next few months of sunny days and opportunity, I thought I could share a few ideas to get you moving and motivated. Here are some activities to work into your newly brighter spring days.
Daylight Savings: How to Make That Extra Sunshine Count
- Outdoor Yoga: Nothing beats some fresh air when you’re stretching and bending. Here are some basic moves to get you started.
- Gardening: Got a green thumb you’d like to stretch? Now is definitely the time. Here’s what to plant and how to start your own small garden.
- DIY Projects: If you’ve been wanting to paint, craft, and altogether get creative, use the outdoor space to get the job done.
- Walking at the Park: Simple but classic – get out and get some fresh air to exercise, de-stress, and enjoy the weather as it warms up and leaves winter behind.
- Play Time with the Kids: Take advantage of the seemingly longer days and take the kids out to the playground, park, or even the backyard. For added calories burned, ride bikes with them on your way somewhere.
- Meditation: There’s something truly magical about being outside, near nature when you’re meditating. Here are some basics on how to get started.
- Spring Cleaning: This is what the season is known for. Get to cleaning out your space to de-clutter and start the season with a fresh take.
- Yard Sales: Make some money off that spring cleaning with some yard sales to make room for new pieces.
What will you be doing with these brighter afternoons? Leave me a comment and let me know how you’re making it count.
