Girl Scouts Celebrate 100 Years

Girl Scouts celebrates 100 years today! I am a fan of any organization that supports and empowers women. Girl Scouts is calling 2012 The Year of The Girl “when girls succeed, so do society.” Not only are we celebrating Girl Scouts 100 years but we are celebrating the fifty million girls and women who have been a part of Girl Scouts of America over the last century. Maria Wynne heads Girl Scouts Chicago and told the Chicago Tribune that two-thirds of women in Congress are former Girl Scouts and that they have a goal to “eliminate gender inequality and gender imbalance.
