What is single-thinking? As women, we’re known to multi-task. We can do 10,000 things at one time. Pick up the kids while taking a work call? No problem! Work on a project while making dinner? It’s easy. With the advent of the Internet, we’ve taken multi-tasking to a whole new level. I tend to check my phone while I’m eating breakfast. I want to slow things down a little for you. Instead of thinking of a million things at once, let’s go back to single-thinking. Single-thinking is all about slowing down and taking things one at a time. It’s going back to basics and enjoying the little things. For example, breakfast without any distractions. Just one meal for me to focus on. Sounds scary but it’s going to be good for you. Here are some things you can do to slow down your brain a bit.
Go Back to Single-Thinking
Listen to a podcast without checking your phone.
Eat a meal without TV or your phone.
Have one tab open on your computer at a time.
Watch a movie without doing anything else.
Listen to your favorite album all the way through.
Try to focus on listening rather than what to say next.
Meditate for 10 minutes.
Turn off your phone for a whole day.
Declutter your desk for little to no distractions.
