Today we celebrate the most popular tequila-based cocktail in the USA – Happy National Margarita Day! There are many myths dating back to 1938 as to when and how the first ever margarita was invented, but the margarita was published as the ”Drink of the Month” in Esquire magazine in December 1953. The margarita became infamous in 1977 with the release of Jimmy Buffett’s song ”Margaritaville.”
