The holidays are here! That means party time. Who doesn’t like a great party? However, we have to be realistic. The economy has affected us all and we have to live the day after the event, so we have to party on a budget. You can still be fabulous yet cost effective. I have some fun holiday party ideas that will work on a budget:
1. Create invitations on the computer. There are a lot of holiday templates that you can choose from.
2. Have a Potluck. Instead of cooking everything yourself, ask your guest to bring their favorite dish.
3. Have a tree trimming party. Select a theme for your tree and have your guests bring ornaments.
4. Have wine and cheese. Ask each guest to bring a bottle of wine. Then, purchase some artisanal cheeses, and you’ve got everything you need for a wine and cheese party.
5. Like to sing? Have a caroling party. Invite your friends and family to go Christmas caroling with you (free fun). Then, head back to your house after wards for hot chocolate, cider, and Christmas cookies.
6. Have a small, intimate dinner party. You don’t have to have 100 people over at one time. If you like the idea of hosting a dinner party, but cringe at the cost, you may be thinking too big. Keep your guest list to a handful of your closest friends, and you’ll keep the cost low too.
7. Have a cookie baking party. Grab the flour, sugar and a few of your friends for a cookie baking party. Start from scratch or buy ready-made dough. Enjoy!
