Has anyone out there ever wondered exactly what the history of Veterans Day is? Here’s the scoop:
“Veterans Day is a public holiday that is dedicated to honoring anyone who has served in the United States military. The holiday began as a day to remember the end of World War I and was declared a holiday by President Woodrow Wilson in 1919. Originally known as Armistice Day, the holiday became Veterans Day in 1954.” (via Public Holidays)
It’s an incredible way to celebrate the bravery and dedication of all our veterans out there – and it’s just around the corner on November 11th. If you don’t know a veteran or have a veteran in your family, it’s certainly worth taking a moment to remember all the brave men and women who have stood by us and our country – they are all heroes of the most genuine form.
