Burnout happens more often than you think. Something that you once felt passionate towards suddenly feels like a chore. It could be work or school related. It could also be a hobby you just don’t feel like doing anymore. All of a sudden, you just aren’t happy to be doing that work. You feel exhausted every time you try to get started. It’s a feeling you just can’t shake. I know how difficult the feeling is. It’s tough, but I know you can get through it because I have done it myself. Check out some helpful ways that you can deal with that burnt out feeling on your own.
Stop What You’re Doing- If you’re feeling burnt out, then maybe it’s time to take a break. Stop what you’re work for a few hours or maybe for a few days to feel more rejuvenated. You may seem like you can’t fathom taking any time off, but sometimes it’s all we need. Go for a walk or plan a staycation.
Try Something New- Doing new things gets our creative juices flowing. Maybe you just need an escape from your day to day. It might help you to feel renewed. Treat yourself to something you’ve always wanted to try and see what happens.
Unplug- Take your attempts at relaxation seriously. Unplug yourself from your phone and computer. Forget that you have responsibilities for a moment. Set boundaries if your work life is stressing you out and cut off communication once you’re off the clock. You owe it to yourself.
Sleep- If you’re feeling burnout, try your best to get enough sleep at night. Research suggests that those of us who sleep less than six hours are more prone to burnout. Try to get those eight hours in to feel refreshed and ready for whatever it is that you’re trying to perfect.
