How To Get Over Your Ex

Losing someone is hard, but getting over them can feel a lot harder. When you or your ex breaks it off, it feels like your world is broken. With strong emotions that seem to be all over the place, it feels close to impossible to get back up on your feet again. I understand that it’s hard, but holding on to all those harbored feelings isn’t doing anyone any good and your friends are probably tired of hearing about it anyway. So what’s a girl to do when her heart’s been broken and she feels like there’s nowhere else to turn? Check out these tactics to help you get over your ex.

Focus On Your Career And Hobbies- When you’re idle, your mind starts to wander. Where does it tend to go? On missing your ex. So here’s what you can do: work! Focus on your job or your side passions. Take up volunteering. When you’re doing something and working towards something great, your mind is occupied and little by little those feelings stop feeling so overwhelming.

Think About The Bad- I’m not one for negative thinking but, when you feel yourself start to reach for that phone to text your ex in an attempt to start things over, put it down. Take a second to focus on the negative aspects of your old relationship. It will remind you if why you made your decision to leave this person and move on with your life in the first place.

Work On Yourself- A failed relationship is often a time for introspection and insight. It’s time to put everything else on the back burner to take some time for you. Exercise and eat right, it could help you feel better and look better. Do some things that you love and forget the rest. This is your time, girl.
