Mark Twain said that “comparison is the death of joy,” and I cannot help but agree. You know the feeling. The sinking feeling that you’re not where you should be just because someone else is there already or has it before you do. It’s not a good feeling and a total joy sucker. Comparing yourself to someone else isn’t good for you; it isn’t good for where you’re trying to go, or for your self-esteem. So it’s time to cut it out! It’s not helping you or anyone around you.
With Comparison, You’ll Never Win- Have you ever found yourself obsessing over someone else’s Instagram picture. It seems so glamorous and just like the life you want to have. The thing with getting jealous, especially over social media, is that, it’s not doing anything for you. It’s you getting worked up when you could be doing something to get yourself your own glamorous picture on Instagram. So get off social media, stop comparing yourself to that other person, and get something done!
There Is No Such Thing As “Should”- The first thing that you need to realize is that there are no “should’s” in this world. What do I mean by that? I mean that there is no “I should be doing this, because someone else is doing it.” There is only you and whatever future you’re trying to attain, which is attainable by doing whatever you want to do to get it. So take the word “should” out of your vocabulary.
Accept The Path Of Your Life- You’re just where you need to be in your life, because, where else would you be? You’re life path is your life path and you wouldn’t be where you are unless God or the universe had some other lesson for you. You’ll grow and attain the things you want in the right time. It’s just a matter of accepting your own path and forgetting that person’s very glamorous Instagram post.
