Japan Wins Women’s World Cup Title

Congratulations to Japan’s winners of 2011 Women’s World Cup title.

Team USA had taken the lead in the 104th minute off by Abby Wambach and ended the game in a penalty series. Japan became the first Asian nation to win the Women’s World Cup. USA missed their first three penalties and Japan went on to win the shootout 3-1 when Saki Kumagai slotted the final shot high past goalkeeper Hope Solo.

Japan played an amazing game and was a strong team to defeat, well deserved.
