Being a parent is the toughest job there is. SO, first of all – congrats to all you parents out there – give yourselves a pat on the back! But, as you probably know, parenting goes beyond love – it means being an example, learning from your children, protecting them and most of all, knowing when to step back. Probably the toughest part of being a parent, but in some ways the most important, is letting your children find independence and learn how to thrive on their own. It’s what makes them well-rounded and confident people. Read on for my tips for helping your kids thrive and become the leaders of tomorrow.
Leaders of Tomorrow: Helping Your Kids Thrive
· Your kids aren’t going to be happy with you 100% of the time – be OK with that reality.
· A little bit of risk is ok. Protecting our kids is definitely part of the job, but letting them navigate risk will help them become stronger, savvier people.
· Give your kiddos a glimpse into your teen years and share some of your own mistakes.
· Don’t forget – even if your kids are super smart, they’re still kids.
· Let them figure out how to get things done on their own – a little bit of failure is ok.
