I’ve mention visualizing your dreams on LorensWorld a few
times. But today I thought, “Maybe not everyone knows how to actually put this
into practice.” So, I decided to put together a little exercise that can help
you build your visualization muscles.
I’m going to walk you through the process with the following
exercise. You may want to read through it first and then record yourself
reading it. Perhaps you can use the voice memo feature on your phone? The
reason I suggest recording is because you’ll have to close your eyes in the
beginning. So a recording can help you with the process.
Find a space that is quiet and will not allow interruptions.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Let go of any problems from the day and
let your mind go blank. Picture a pink rose. See its soft petals and its green
stem. Imagine what it feels like. What does it smell like? What shade of pink
is it?
Open your eyes. The place in your mind where you developed
this picture of a rose is the same place where you visualize from. It’ll be
easier for you to visualize now that you know where it’s coming from.
So let’s say, you want to visualize yourself with financial
success. Go ahead and close your eyes again. Picture yourself in a location
that signifies financial success to you. What does it look like? What is the
temperature? What are you wearing? Is there anyone else around you? You are
completely financially secure and happy. Focus on what that feels like. Hold on
to that feeling. Keep your movie reel going. Now that you are financially
secure how will you spend your day? What does it look like?
You can keep the exercise going as long as possible. Try to
do this every day for a few minutes, so you get comfortable with your dream.
Eventually, you’ll get to seeing it so much that it will become your reality.
xoxo,
Loren
