Take time to relax and try to enjoy this time of the year. I know it’s not easy for everyone, but I believe that you can. Read this post. I want you to be healthy and happy this season. Look After Your Mental Health this Holiday Season
Stay Healthy- I think exercise is a major part of keeping up with your mental health. Eat well and exercise to help those endorphins going. I know how difficult it can be to eat well amidst parties and celebrations but try your best. Keep alcohol consumption to a minimum and get outside to get your heart pumping at least three times a week.
Make Time for Yourself- Take an hour out of each day to practice self-care. Read a book or journal through your feelings. Relax, so you can come back to all the holiday festivities feeling refreshed and ready for fun. You can be a little selfish from time to time. Your loved ones will understand.
You Can Say No- If too many Christmas festivities are taking up your time, remember that you can say ‘no.’ You don’t have to do everything all at once. You are the most important part of your life: not the gift exchange or the work gathering. Say ‘no’ from time to time and take your power back.
Seek Professional Help- If you don’t see a way out from the holiday stress, seek a professional. Mental health isn’t the taboo that it once was. It’s okay to ask for help.
